About Us

The beginning of the Beckets Grove Phase 2 Residents Association started after the Management Company Residents meeting with Chamonix Estates (now FirstPort) in August 2019. One of the main points that came from the meeting was that for residents to have any control or say in the activities of the management company going forward we would require resident directors to be put in place as soon as we are able. This will be after Persimmon have fully completed the site. To enable this to happen it was felt that we needed a way for residents to work together separate from but alongside the management company.

A small group of us started working together to put the beginning stages in place whilst also tackling some of the issues detailed on the News page. We knew there were other residents interested in being involved but due to the Covid situation we needed to keep the numbers low at first to allow us to discuss in person what we needed to do.

This website was the initial stage of us reaching out to and informing other Phase 2 residents who would like to be updated and have some level of involvement in estate issues. Our intention was to make as many aware of this site as possible through flyers posted through doors and on the numerous Facebook group pages. We wanted to establish contact with as many residents members as possible so that all that wanted to be involved could be.

We only register Phase 2 residents as members as the Residents Association directly relates to the Beckets Grove Phase 2 Management Company Ltd, as per property title deeds. This also includes the properties Persimmon built under their Beckets Grove Phase 3 reference. As Beckets Grove Phase 1 has a separate management company we will not be actively dealing with Phase 1 issues unless they impact Phase 2. However, Phase 1 residents are more than welcome to follow our activities from the News on this website and Contact Us about anything they feel is mutually beneficial. This resident’s association is open to all Phase 2 resident whether they are home owners, tenants or have shared ownership of their property.

As well as looking to organise the appointment of resident directors, the additional aims of the association are to provide a combined voice for tackling issues affecting the site whilst also allowing increased communication between residents on all issues. We have formed a committee which meets four times a year to discuss progress of issues and raise anything new. Meeting notes are published on our News page and include the date of the next meeting.

The committee has put together a Constitution which lays out what the Resident Associations main objectives are, the Officers and members of the committee and when and how meetings take place. The Constitution is here and will be updated at the end of the year at out AGM. The AGM is also when the committee officers can change with new officers put forward and voted in.
