Contractor Parking
As you will have seen contractor parking was causing a problem for all residents entering and exiting the estate on Albini Way. Anywhere between 4 and 12 vehicles were parking along the road causing a potential accident risk and creating additional crossing dangers for pedestrians. This was made worse with site deliveries and when the road sweeper was working. Unfortunately, there was as accident, no one hurt thankfully, but apparently that had nothing to do with the instigation of the following.
Finally, after six weeks of multiple complaints Persimmon have finally taken responsibility over the parking of their contractors and employees to ensure they use the facilities that are in place.
Persimmon’s Senior Contracts manager has instigated a full-time banksman to prevent contractors parking on the road. Apparently, their message to contractors is “If you park on the road you won’t be allowed to work on our site.” Persimmon intend to keep this control measure in place until the end of March when they anticipate the new roundabout will be formed to allow construction access to enter via the new entrance to additional parking.
