Litter & Dog Waste Bins

Currently Beckets Grove Phase 2 only has one litter bin that is located on the play area on Jeckyll Road opposite Sawmill Close. After a bit of back and forth between Chamonix Estates and Persimmon over responsibility it was determined that this bin will be emptied on a fortnightly basis by Chamonix Estates. The cost of which is applied to the estate management company.

The responsibility for positioning and provision of dog waste bins typically falls to Wymondham Town Council. They pay for the installation and for South Norfolk District Council to empty the bins which must be done under licence. The Town Council will not assess any possible provision of dog waste bins on Phase 2 until Persimmon has finished and handed over the estate.

As it stands the Town Council’s stance on additional litter and dog waste bin provision is that currently the responsibility falls to the estate management company to provide and empty any bins on Phase 2. Only once Persimmon have fully handed over the estate will we be able to challenge the Town Council further on this.

As Chamonix Estates do not hold a licence for removal of dog waste, the bin in the playground on Jekyll Road should only be used for litter. The closest dog waste bins are located on the Jekyll Road side of the large park on Phase 1 and at the play area on Albini Way opposite Harvey Close.
