Work on Site Issues Update
As detailed in the Meeting Minutes from the last Committee Meeting. Persimmon have acknowledged and will be working towards rectification of many of the issues that we have been trying to raise with them.
They have already cleared the Game Rearing Pen from within the woodland area behind Carpenters Rise. They have also advised that over the coming weeks the following work will be doneā¦
- Reconstruction of all Hibernation habitats
- Trimming of all chicken wire to lagoon areas
- Re-profiling of gravel paths to ensure falls prevent flooding
- Installation of informal path through the woodland area
- Seeding of lagoon areas
Mulberry Build Ltd have been in contact to advise that they will be closing off the path around the Lagoon area for safety reasons whilst this work is complete. They aim to minimise the duration the closures to reduce any inconvenience. It is likely that the Lagoon Area will start to look worse before it gets better but we will aim to ensure that the issues we have raised are completed to our satisfaction before Persimmon hand the area over to FirstPort for adoption under the estate management company.
Additionally, you may have also noticed that as we advised might happen in our meeting notes, the Knee rail fencing has been removed from many of the roadside verges around the site. These areas are to be adopted by the Highways Department and will not be the responsibility of the estate management company to look after. The Highways department will not adopt the roads or the verges with these rails in place as they do not want the responsibility or cost of maintaining them. The issue of un-grassed and damaged verges in many of these areas has been raised with Persimmon.
We hope to be able to provide further updates on the above and other issues raised in our meeting on Tuesday 7th June, 7:30pm in the Rugby Club downstairs meeting room.
